If you would like to experience the very best in accommodation in Scotland, look no further than Lauder's Thirlestane Castle.
Just 25 miles south of Edinburgh, in the most stunning Scottish countryside, lies the thirteenth century Thirlestane Castle, with its luxury State Apartment. Housed in the south wing of the castle, one of the oldest and finest in Scotland, made from rose pink sandstone, and steeped in centuries of history.
Surrounded by well manicured grounds, The State Apartment has stunning views over the rolling Border Hills, and the countryside, some of the finest in Scotland. Within easy reach are the towns of Galashiels, Melrose, Hawick and Jedburgh, while on the north east coast is the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, with its Elizabethan ramparts and historic buildings. Also on the coast are some the most beautiful award winning beaches, as well as the castles at Bamburgh and Alnwick, and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
The State Apartment is the perfect location for that short break, a weekend away, or for the sheer splendour of it all. With all the amenities you would possibly need on your holiday, you have the castle and its grounds at your disposal. Comprising a well appointed lounge, bedroom and bathroom.
The lounge is tastefully decorated to the highest standard, with deep armchairs and a soft sofa. There is satellite television and internet connection.
The bedroom comes with a comfortable king size bed, and an original dressing table, chest of drawers and plenty of storage space and wardrobes.
The bathroom features include a free standing bath, shower, and heated tower rails.
The accommodation is for 2 people, no children or pets are allowed, and due to the historic value of the property there is strictly no smoking allowed.
