Kelso was once described by Sir Walter Scott as "The most beautiful, if not the most romantic town in Scotland", there are plenty of interesting sights to see in the town and surrounding area. There are also many shops selling everything from tweed and woollen goods to antiques. Excellent cafes, restaurants, bars and shops make the town of the highest standard.

There are many outdoor activities to try in the area, such as walking, golf, cycling, bird-watching and fishing. The nearby Kelso race course is popular with tourists. There is an new all weather tennis court at Cliftonhill which guests can enjoy with no charge.

Plum Braes Barn, TD5 7QE Coaching is available. The cottages are on an organic farm with seasonal vegetables, asparagus and other interesting plants for sale and free range eggs.

Plum Tree is a romantic getaway for 2, with its luxurious décor and beautiful view.

Cockle Kitty has 2 bed rooms, double and single and one bath room with many original features yet with a contemporary feel. Garden Bank Cottage has 2 en suite bed rooms, one double and one single. All cottages have dining area, luxury leather sofas and wonderful wood burners. Just a field away is the Eden Water, which is ideal for paddling, fishing and bird-watching.

Edmonston House sleeps up to 10 people but if there are less than 10 sharing the price is reduced. This is a chalet-style farmhouse with beautiful views of the Eden and Tweed Valleys to the south, and to the Cheviot Hills to the north. The farmhouse has an adjacent summer house, tennis court and barbecue.

Weekly, fortnightly and short stays are available. Short dates usually start on a Saturday, but other start days can sometimes be arranged.

All rates include electricity, beds prepared, towels, logs, oil c/h, internet connection, sky TV, tennis court (coaching extra)and cleaning equipment.
